Kozo Bookshelf

Kozo Bookshelf

Kozo Bookshelf is an innovative modular furniture system that exemplifies contemporary design principles through its adaptable and customizable structure. Designed by Lebanese architect Jihad Khairallah, this versatile bookshelf system represents a significant advancement in flexible furniture design, combining functional storage solutions with artistic expression. The design features a sophisticated assembly of wooden components complemented by stainless steel brackets and aluminum shelves, allowing users to create personalized configurations that suit their specific spatial and aesthetic requirements. The system's core structure comprises various back panels that can be combined to achieve desired dimensions, while maintaining a consistent depth of 35 centimeters. A distinguishing characteristic of the Kozo Bookshelf is its integration of customizable elements, including brackets that can be adorned with wooden sleeves in various finishes and end caps available in multiple premium materials such as brass, marble, and wood. This thoughtful approach to materiality and modularity enables users to participate actively in the design process, creating unique compositions that reflect their individual style and needs. The design's emphasis on user interaction and personalization earned it a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2023, recognizing its contribution to innovative furniture design. The system's ability to transform from a functional bookshelf into an artistic installation that merges color and light demonstrates its versatility and contemporary relevance in modern interior design.
