KOS Labels
KOS Labels is an innovative packaging design solution that revolutionizes the visual presentation of plant-based nutritional supplements through a distinctive combination of clean aesthetics and playful illustration. This comprehensive labeling system, designed by Juan Jose Montes from Colombia, represents a significant departure from conventional supplement packaging by incorporating whimsical, doodle-style illustrations that personify ingredients and their benefits through relatable everyday situations and pop culture references. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, features a meticulously organized composition that effectively communicates product information while maintaining visual appeal through custom-created characters for each product variant. The labeling system, implemented on cylindrical bottles measuring 113.5 mm in diameter and 132 mm in height, employs digital printing technology with both matte and glossy finishes to achieve optimal visual impact. A notable achievement of this design lies in its successful creation of nearly 30 distinct characters representing various ingredients, including challenging microscopic elements like Spirulina and amorphous substances such as Fo-ti roots. The design's strategic approach deliberately breaks away from the industry's status quo of ingredient photography and conventional benefit listings, instead opting for an engaging visual narrative that enhances user interaction and product understanding. This innovative labeling system demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its execution, combining functional clarity with artistic expression to create a memorable and effective packaging solution that has been recognized for its contribution to advancing packaging design standards through the prestigious A' Design Award competition.
