Klik Brik Re Configurable Toy
Klik Brik Re configurable toy is an innovative modular furniture and toy system that represents a significant advancement in sustainable, multifunctional children's products. This versatile design, created by industrial designer Paolo Tiramani, seamlessly bridges the gap between furniture, toys, and ride-on products through its unique reconfigurable nature. The system employs large-scale, human-scaled building elements manufactured from recycled soda bottles, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. Each component measures 35x35x36cm and features an intuitive connection system utilizing a choke-proof 'key' mechanism that enables tool-free assembly within seconds. The design's brilliance lies in its ability to compress to merely 10% of its assembled volume, significantly reducing shipping costs and retail space requirements while maintaining structural integrity. Drawing inspiration from classic building block toys, Klik Brik's iconic form language communicates its purpose instantly, eliminating the need for complex instructions. The system underwent extensive human factors research to accommodate various age groups' ergonomic requirements, particularly focusing on optimal seat and desk heights. This Iron A' Design Award-winning creation in the Toys, Games and Hobby Products category represents a thoughtful solution to planned obsolescence, as its modular nature allows for endless reconfiguration possibilities, extending the product's lifespan and utility. The design's development, spanning 48 months, focused on creating an affordable, durable, and safe solution that combines play value with practical furniture functionality, while its manufacturing process emphasizes environmental responsibility through the exclusive use of recycled materials.
