KK-Park Signage System
KK-Park Signage System is an innovative wayfinding and visual communication design solution created for a Sino-Korean cultural exchange leisure district, exemplifying the harmonious fusion of traditional Korean cultural elements with contemporary design principles. The system, designed by Yi Zhang and team, masterfully incorporates distinctive Korean cultural motifs, including the iconic ribbons from traditional Korean costume, the symbolic Obangsaek color palette, and the characteristic strokes of Korean characters, transforming them into a cohesive and functional signage framework. Standing at 3 meters high with dimensions of 2200mm x 500mm x 665mm, the system utilizes 5mm thick stainless steel bending techniques to create graceful, twisted forms that serve both aesthetic and practical purposes. The design's sophisticated approach to cultural representation is evident in its strategic placement throughout the belt-like loop of the site, effectively guiding pedestrian flow while maintaining visual consistency. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project demonstrates exceptional innovation in addressing complex wayfinding challenges within a multicultural context, particularly in managing multiple entrances and exits while maintaining clear orientation cues. The system's implementation involved high-precision prefabrication and installation processes, ensuring superior quality and durability in the final execution. Its thoughtful integration of form and function creates an engaging spatial experience that not only facilitates navigation but also serves as a cultural bridge, promoting bilateral exchange between Chinese and Korean heritage through design excellence.
