Kingkey Yujing Central Residence Central Residence

Kingkey Yujing Central Residence Central Residence is an exemplary residential interior design project completed in 2017 in Shenzhen, China, that masterfully integrates contemporary elegance with functional living spaces. The design, which earned an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases a sophisticated approach to modern residential architecture through its thoughtful spatial arrangement and material selection. The project's design philosophy centers on the concept of 'return and union,' achieved through the harmonious intersection of fluent lines and carefully curated materials including 22mm thick craft acrylic with luminescence treatment, Chino vein tinted marble, cross grain parquet, and teakwood shelves. The residence features an innovative open window layout on both north and south facades, maximizing natural light penetration while reducing dependency on artificial lighting. The interior space planning demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, with a foyer leading to a symmetrically balanced main living area, saloon, and dining room. Despite challenges posed by limited storey height, the design team implemented creative solutions, including the selection of ultra-thin indoor air conditioning units to maximize ceiling height and achieve seamless wood detailing. The color palette employs sophisticated dark tones complemented by fine fabrics, marble surfaces, and leather upholstery, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and refined luxury. The project, completed over a seven-month period, represents a significant achievement in residential showroom design, effectively demonstrating how contemporary living spaces can balance aesthetic sophistication with practical functionality.
