Kinetic Facade
Kinetic Facade is a type of building exterior that can move or change shape in response to sunlight, wind, or user controls, and a new development in this area is the use of lightweight, flexible materials like ETFE membranes and thin metal meshes that allow for larger, more dynamic moving sections with less energy use. These new materials make it possible to create facades that can fold, twist, or ripple, giving designers more freedom to create unique patterns and effects. Some kinetic facades now use sensors that collect real-time data about weather or occupancy, so the facade can automatically adjust to keep the building comfortable and save energy. This approach helps buildings use less heating and cooling, and it can make the inside spaces feel more connected to the outside environment.
