Kalky Ragged Pendant lamp is an innovative lighting fixture that exemplifies the intersection of artisanal craftsmanship and contemporary design methodology. Created by Polish designer Marek Błażucki, this pendant lamp showcases a unique self-developed technology incorporating manual dyeing, impregnation, and the meticulous process of sewing and riveting tracing paper. The distinguishing feature of this design lies in its remarkably versatile openwork structure, which possesses a high degree of flexibility, enabling the lampshade to be inverted to create an entirely different form. This transformative capability is achieved through a simple repositioning of the light source holder, requiring minimal effort while offering maximum visual impact. The design's aesthetic appeal is enhanced by the deliberate contrast between hand-torn edges and precise straight cuts in the lampshade components, creating a compelling interplay between organic and geometric elements. Measuring 60 x 60 x 30 centimeters without the cable and extending to 60 x 60 x 150 centimeters with the cable, this lamp was initially conceived for an exhibition addressing emotional expression through design. The project, which commenced in February 2022, was specifically created for the Nie!Pokoj exhibition, serving as an artistic statement for peace in Ukraine. The design's excellence was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to lighting design and its contribution to the field of interior illumination.
