Jstone Italian Kitchen And Bar Restaurant

Jstone Italian Kitchen And Bar Restaurant

Jstone Italian Kitchen and Bar Restaurant is an award-winning culinary establishment that masterfully blends Italian gastronomy with Shanghai's rich cultural heritage, situated in the historic Dongjiadu area of Shanghai's old city downtown. The restaurant's architectural and interior design philosophy draws profound inspiration from the classical Shikumen architecture, characteristic of Shanghai's traditional neighborhoods, while incorporating Art Deco elements to create a contemporary Shanghai-style aesthetic. Designed by Yifan He and completed in October 2021, the space showcases an innovative fusion of Eastern and Western design elements, paying homage to its proximity to Shanghai's first Catholic church. The interior features premium materials including bronze stainless steel, Ariston marble, Black galaxy marble, artistic coating, walnut veneer, leather, and carefully selected wallpapers, creating an atmosphere of refined elegance. Located within the prestigious Greenland Bund Center, a 170,000-square-meter super complex along the Huangpu River, the restaurant contributes to the area's positioning as a Shanghai-style cultural center and sophisticated nightlife destination. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2022, successfully addresses the challenge of preserving local historical and cultural characteristics while creating a modern dining environment. The space's layout and decorative elements reflect the essence of Shanghai-style culture, achieving a harmonious balance between decorative aesthetics and classic cultural elements, while the culinary concept draws inspiration from the authentic traditions of southern Italian cuisine, particularly the herb-rich cooking style of the Naples region.
