Jie Qi

Jie Qi is not an American artist, but rather a term used in traditional Chinese culture to refer to the 24 solar terms that divide the year into 24 segments, each lasting about 15 days. These solar terms are based on the position of the sun in relation to the Earth's orbit and have been used in China for over 2000 years to guide agricultural practices, such as planting and harvesting crops, as well as to mark seasonal changes and cultural festivals. Jie Qi is an important part of Chinese traditional culture and is still widely used in modern times. The 24 solar terms are divided into four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter, with six solar terms in each season. Each solar term has its own unique characteristics, such as the beginning of spring, the summer solstice, the autumnal equinox, and the winter solstice. In addition to its practical applications, Jie Qi has also inspired many works of literature, art, and music in Chinese culture. Many poems and songs have been written about the different solar terms, and traditional Chinese paintings often depict the natural scenery and activities associated with each solar term. Overall, Jie Qi is a significant aspect of Chinese traditional culture, representing the connection between humans and nature, and the importance of living in harmony with the natural world.
