Jerry House Residential : Private House is an innovative holiday home located at Cha Am Beach, Thailand, that revolutionizes traditional residential architecture by seamlessly integrating playful elements into its interior design. Completed in 2014, this 435-square-meter residence transforms conventional living spaces into an interactive playground, drawing inspiration from the classic animated series 'Tom and Jerry.' The architectural concept challenges typical residential circulation patterns by incorporating five layers of polyester netting at varying heights and slopes throughout the main living hall, creating a three-dimensional maze-like structure that encourages physical activity and family interaction. The design, created by Thai architects Arisara Chaktranon and Siriyot Chaiamnuay, features unique elements such as strategically placed holes in each net layer, metal ladders connecting different levels, and mirrored ceiling films that create an illusion of infinite space. The residence includes innovative sleeping arrangements with sunken wall spaces connected by tunnels, hidden sliding doors, and unconventional bedroom access points, all contributing to its playful nature. This extraordinary approach to residential design earned the project a Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its exceptional innovation in reimagining domestic space. The success of the design is evidenced by its practical implementation, where family members, including children and grandparents, naturally gravitated toward utilizing the space in unexpected ways, such as sleeping in the elevated nets rather than traditional bedrooms, truly embodying the project's goal of creating a home that transcends conventional living patterns.
