Jen Teh Library

Jen Teh Library is an innovative architectural and interior design project completed in Taiwan in 2022, exemplifying a modern approach to educational space design through its thoughtful four-floor configuration and multifunctional spaces. The facility demonstrates exceptional spatial planning with each floor serving distinct yet complementary purposes: the ground floor houses the main library area featuring a distinctive stepped reading space and interactive speech zone, the second floor accommodates various self-study and discussion areas with both long-type and bar-style seating arrangements, the third floor contains specialized medical functional situational classrooms, and the fourth floor hosts an international conference hall and multimedia audiovisual facilities. The design, created by Jing Wei Lin, addresses contemporary challenges in educational spaces, particularly the increasing influence of digital technology on learning habits, by incorporating flexible and diverse spatial solutions that enhance user engagement and space utilization. Notable features include track-light equipped reading chairs that transform into activity booths, double-sided open bookcases, and sky bookshelves that maximize book visibility and accessibility. The project's environmental consciousness is evident in its material selection, utilizing wood veneer and environmental latex paint throughout the structure. The design's excellence was recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to creating an engaging, multipurpose educational environment that successfully balances functionality with aesthetic appeal.
