Jean Crespin

Jean Crespin was a French Protestant printer and historian who lived during the 16th century. He is best known for his contributions to the Protestant Reformation, particularly through his publishing of religious texts and his documentation of the persecution of French Protestants during the reign of King Francis I. Crespin's works were highly influential in spreading the ideas of the Reformation throughout France and beyond. In addition to his religious and historical writings, Crespin was also a prolific publisher of secular works, including literature and legal texts. He was known for his attention to detail and his commitment to accuracy, which made his publications highly respected in his time. Despite his contributions to the Reformation, Crespin faced persecution and imprisonment due to his beliefs. He was forced to flee France at one point, but eventually returned and continued his work until his death in 1572.
