Jacobean Revival Style

The Jacobean Revival Style is an architectural style which originated in the late 19th century and is based on the traditional designs of the 16th and 17th centuries in England. It is characterized by the use of stone and brick, with half-timbered and ornamental plasterwork, and the use of classical columns and arches. This style is often seen in public buildings, churches and manor houses. The style is a combination of the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods of English architecture, and is often highly decorated, with wooden details and carvings. The style is also inspired by the Gothic Revival, with the use of pointed arches, and the use of intricate stonework and woodwork.

Tudor, Elizabethan, Jacobean, Gothic, Revival.

Jacobean Revival Style

Jacobean Revival Style is the term given to a type of architecture which emerged during the late 19th and early 20th centuries that sought to replicate the forms, motifs and materials of the British Renaissance architecture. This style is often identified by its symmetrical massing, steeply pitched roofs, massive chimneys, and half-timbered exteriors. Ornamental details such as jigsaw-cut stonework, carved stone heads, and leaded glass windows are also common features of this style. In addition, it is often characterized by the use of bold colors, particularly terracotta, pale yellow, and reds, and the incorporation of traditional English decorative arts in the form of heraldic crests, armorial bearings, and decorative ironwork.

Gabled, Tudor, Renaissance, Timber, Ornamental.
