Intraocular Lens
An intraocular lens (IOL) is a tiny artificial lens that is implanted in the eye to replace the eye's natural lens after it has been removed during cataract surgery. IOLs are made of a flexible, biocompatible material that is designed to last a lifetime. IOLs are designed to be placed in the eye in such a way that they work with the eye's natural focusing mechanism, allowing the eye to focus on objects both near and far. IOLs come in a variety of shapes and sizes, allowing them to be customized to the individual patient's needs.
