Innovation And Production Center Factory
Innovation and Production Center Factory is a sophisticated architectural complex designed to integrate research and manufacturing facilities for gas detection equipment, situated in the industrial suburbs of Tokyo. This six-story, 24,800-square-meter facility represents a pioneering approach to combining innovation and production spaces through thoughtful architectural design. The structure features two distinct yet harmoniously connected buildings unified by an L-shaped motif on their main facades, incorporating linear elements such as slits, fins, and louvers to convey precision and sophistication. A notable engineering achievement is the connecting bridge between the buildings, which employs a unique structural solution to accommodate different seismic responses, utilizing pin supports on one side and rollers on the other to manage the distinct movements of the earthquake-resistant Innovation Center and the seismically isolated Production Center. The design emphasizes intellectual productivity through various architectural interventions, including color-switching floor designs in the innovation center and varying lighting color temperatures in production areas. Green terraces positioned at matching heights create a distinctive skyline that enriches the industrial landscape, while communication spaces foster collaboration between departments. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, demonstrates exceptional integration of functional efficiency, technological innovation, and environmental consciousness, setting new standards for industrial architecture that prioritizes both productivity and employee well-being.
