Ink Painting Apartment Interior Design
Ink Painting Apartment Interior Design is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully combines neo-classical aesthetics with modern design sensibilities, completed in December 2020 in Taichung City, Taiwan. This 190-square-meter apartment, situated on the 25th floor, showcases an innovative approach to spatial design through its seamless integration of traditional and contemporary elements. The design's distinctive feature lies in its interpretation of Chinese ink painting aesthetics translated into three-dimensional space, achieved through careful manipulation of light, shadow, and architectural elements. The project encompasses three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and expansive living and dining areas, complemented by a 42-square-meter balcony that serves as an outdoor entertainment space. The interior's sophisticated design language employs a predominantly monochromatic palette of black and white, enhanced by the strategic use of premium materials such as cream and black marble with golden veining, creating a visual narrative that echoes traditional ink painting's depth and subtlety. A notable architectural element is the sculptural landscape stone installation at the entrance, which functions both as a privacy screen and an artistic focal point, embodying the oriental concept of dragon hiding gold. The design, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its open layout, which effectively dissolves traditional boundaries between functional areas while maintaining distinct zones through material transitions and thoughtful furniture placement. The integration of large floor-to-ceiling windows maximizes natural light penetration, while the fishbone parquet flooring provides a warm counterpoint to the stone elements, creating a harmonious flow throughout the space.
