INDIGO Rug Rug is an innovative furniture design concept that revolutionizes the traditional approach to kilim rug restoration and modernization. Created by Croatian designer Matteo Mirko Cetinski, this groundbreaking design combines ancient craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics through a unique fusion of dip-dyeing and screen-printing techniques. The design process begins with carefully sourced antique kilim rugs, approximately 90-100 years old, from regions with rich weaving traditions such as Bosnia & Herzegovina, Turkey, Pakistan, and Morocco. These vintage pieces undergo a sophisticated transformation process that includes dip-dyeing in indigo blue followed by hand screen-printing with distinctive skull motifs in rich gold dye. Each piece measures 2800 mm in height and 1890 mm in width, making it a substantial decorative element. The design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to sustainable design and cultural preservation.
