This sophisticated medical device, designed by Younes Daneshvar, Ali M. Khomami, and Amir Reza Ghazanfari, features thoughtfully engineered components including ergonomically designed headboards and sidebed guards manufactured using ABS plastic through blow-molding processes. The bed's dimensions of 2200mm x 1100mm x 1020mm are optimized for both patient comfort and caregiver accessibility. The design's primary innovation lies in its user-centric approach, incorporating natural posture considerations in all interactive elements to significantly reduce the physical strain on nursing staff, particularly in preventing back pain, shoulder stress, and hand syndromes associated with repetitive tasks. The bed's sophisticated control system accelerates acute care delivery in urgent situations through enhanced bed controller interaction. Notable features include specially designed handles positioned inside the bed for patient accessibility during both sleeping and sitting positions, enabling users to adjust their position with integrated backrest controls. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design category, emerged from extensive research including user interaction studies in general and intensive care units, comprehensive analysis of hospital bed injuries from 2000 to 2010, and detailed interviews with healthcare professionals.
