In Bag On Desk Calendar
In Bag On Desk Calendar is an innovative dual-purpose stationery design that seamlessly transitions between a portable notebook and a desk calendar, exemplifying the convergence of functionality and aesthetic refinement in contemporary Japanese design. Created by designer Katsumi Tamura alongside a skilled team including Creative Director Takuya Okamoto, Art Director Katsumi Tamura, Designer Takahiro Sugawara, and Copywriter Toshiyuki Nagamatsu, this versatile calendar system represents a significant evolution in traditional desk calendar design. Measuring 195mm in width, 145mm in height, and 10mm in depth, the calendar incorporates sophisticated features including monthly calendar pages, memo paper, and integrated storage pockets for receipts and documents. The design's distinguishing characteristic lies in its ingenious magnetic fastening system, which enables swift transformation between its two primary configurations. Crafted using Japan's advanced printing and processing technologies, the calendar showcases exceptional attention to detail and manufacturing precision. The design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to everyday organizational tools. This achievement particularly highlighted the design's technical excellence, aesthetic appeal, and user experience enhancement. The calendar's dual-functionality addresses modern professionals' need for portable organization tools while maintaining the traditional benefits of a desk calendar, representing a thoughtful solution to contemporary workplace requirements.
