Impressions Of The City Office

Impressions of the City Office is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the transformation of a challenging urban space into a sophisticated professional environment. Located in a cultural and educational district, this renovation project masterfully converted a compact 70m² old-fashioned apartment into a contemporary design company office, demonstrating exceptional space optimization and architectural ingenuity. The design, created by Liang Chih Chu, addresses the complexities of working with a narrow 22m² single floor layout while maximizing natural lighting from both sides of the structure. The exterior features distinctive off-white washed stone walls complemented by transparent glass brick elements, creating a harmonious blend with the urban streetscape. The facade's unique composition of white wave boards and stained glass bricks serves both aesthetic and functional purposes, maintaining privacy while allowing natural light penetration. The interior space planning distributes various functional zones across three floors, including a welcome area, meeting room, office area, tea area, dressing room, and supervisor's office, all connected through thoughtfully reorganized circulation patterns. The first floor maintains a minimalist aesthetic with soft colors, specially painted walls, and marble conference furnishings, while the main office area incorporates bright colors, translucent sliding doors, and reeded glass partitions to create an enhanced spatial perception. The project, completed in August 2021 in Taipei City, received recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in professional space transformation and innovative design solutions.
