I'm Where I Live Home/Show Room is an innovative architectural and interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of art, sustainability, and functional living space in the heart of Muro Leccese, Italy. This groundbreaking concept, designed by Emanuele Spano, represents a significant achievement in biocompatible architecture, transforming a traditional structure into a modern, eco-friendly building that pays homage to the Mediterranean architectural heritage while embracing contemporary design principles. The project, spanning 300 square meters with dimensions of 50 meters width, 6 meters depth, and 4 meters height, draws inspiration from the iconic Saracen Tower model and utilizes local materials, particularly Italian Limestone (Pietra di Lecce) and biocalce, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable building practices. The interior space is thoughtfully divided into three distinct zones: an artist's studio/laboratory, a sophisticated bathroom environment, and a living room-kitchen area, featuring innovative design elements such as a sculptural cooker hood and custom-designed furniture pieces. The project, which commenced in January 2010, stands as a testament to the successful integration of green building principles with artistic expression, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for its exceptional approach to sustainable luxury living. This multifunctional space serves as both a private residence and a creative hub, fostering collaboration among artists, architects, and designers while showcasing how modern eco-conscious design can preserve cultural heritage and promote sustainable living practices.
