Iko Hanging Chair is an innovative office furniture design that reimagines the concept of personal space within open work environments. This sophisticated hanging chair, designed by Ivo Andric, takes the form of a levitating sphere inspired by the geometric principles of the icosahedron, one of the five Platonic solids, which contributes to its distinctive architectural presence and versatile aesthetic integration capabilities. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Office Furniture Design category, represents a harmonious fusion of functionality and artistic expression, featuring a meticulously engineered structure composed of machine-crafted wooden elements and CNC-milled metal cylinders. The chair's acoustic properties are enhanced through specially pressed triangular panels covered in pure wool textile, while the seating area incorporates grain husk filling for ergonomic comfort. Suspended by sustainable hemp ropes, the chair exemplifies a commitment to environmental consciousness in modern furniture design. With dimensions of 1200 x 1100 x 1330 millimeters and requiring a minimum room height of 2400 millimeters, the Iko Hanging Chair serves multiple functions as a focus capsule, reading nook, private workspace, or relaxation pod.
