Idiomi Lamp
Idiomi Lamp is an innovative lighting fixture that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of biologically-inspired design and contemporary LED technology. Designed by Italian designer Nicolò Caruso, this sophisticated illumination system draws inspiration from underwater bioluminescence, particularly the bivalve Mactra Stultorum, while embracing themes of linear purity and pristine white aesthetics. The lamp's distinctive construction features dual diffuser shells crafted from opaline polycarbonate, each equipped with dedicated LED circuits that enable independent control of light intensity and temperature. Available in three dimensional variants (120x100x26mm, 240x200x52mm, and 360x300x78mm), the design incorporates advanced features including a dimming system, DMX control for transitioning between warm and cool light temperatures, and RGB LED capability in its largest model. The lamp's innovative technical architecture includes a lithium battery for wireless operation, making it exceptionally versatile for various environmental applications. This sophisticated lighting solution, recognized with an A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, demonstrates a deep understanding of light's psychological effects on human well-being, with its ability to produce warm light that promotes relaxation through melatonin release, and cool light that enhances alertness. The design's adaptability to different scenarios and its capacity to enhance spatial atmospheres through various lighting configurations represents a significant advancement in contemporary lighting design, offering users a means to customize their environmental illumination according to their needs and preferences.
