Humming Tree Dining Table

Humming Tree Dining Table

Humming Tree Dining Table is an innovative furniture design that seamlessly integrates a dining table with a floor vase, created by British designer Heloise Rajkumari. This nature-inspired piece, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design category, draws its distinctive form from the arrow-headed structure of the Taro leaf, featuring a sophisticated two-layer design that creates a compelling visual interplay between skin and bone components. The table's transparent polycarbonate and steel construction measures 1400mm x 950mm x 750mm, with a functional dining surface of 1100mm x 950mm, incorporating a central void that extends to the floor, serving as an integrated vase for human-sized botanical arrangements. This innovative fusion of functionality addresses the growing disconnect between urban dwellers and natural elements, offering a unique solution to mental fatigue through deliberate exposure to natural elements during dining experiences. The design's split-leaf structure becomes most apparent when the two distinct layers overlap, creating a sophisticated interplay of light and shadow while maintaining structural integrity through careful material selection and engineering. The table's cantilevered design and see-through aesthetic contribute to its visual lightness, while its ability to accommodate full-sized floral arrangements, branches, and leaves transforms it from a mere dining surface into an interactive piece that promotes mindfulness and connection with nature during meals, representing a thoughtful response to contemporary urban living challenges.
