Humble Hive Residential Apartment
Humble Hive Residential Apartment is an award-winning residential interior design project located in the bustling suburbs of Mumbai, India, exemplifying a harmonious blend of simplicity, functionality, and contemporary aesthetics. Completed in 2017, this 90-square-meter apartment, designed by architect Prashant Chauhan, demonstrates masterful space optimization through its thoughtful layout comprising two bedrooms, a living space with an adjoining dining area, a balcony, and a standalone kitchen. The design philosophy centers on creating a serene sanctuary amid urban chaos, featuring distinctive elements such as full-height paneling with 9-foot doors that enhance spatial perception and create a unified visual aesthetic. The interior scheme incorporates culturally significant elements, notably featuring an abstracted metal wireframe elephant head representing Ganesha, positioned strategically as a focal point visible from the entrance. The master bedroom embraces minimalist design principles with a sophisticated black and white photographic artwork against a brown wall, while the teenager's bedroom introduces vibrant elements through teal blue accents and custom features, including a city map wallpaper and innovative 'wanderlust' three-dimensional text that caters to contemporary youth culture. The living area demonstrates sophisticated space planning with two carefully positioned sofas complemented by an outdoor balcony space featuring faux lawn, effectively expanding the visual boundaries of the confined sitting area. This project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases exceptional attention to detail in its material selection, including white-tinted pine wood custom furniture and thoughtfully curated art pieces that reflect the owners' humble nature while maintaining a sophisticated design aesthetic.
