Huangshan Culture Village Service Center

Huangshan Culture Village Service Center is an innovative architectural and interior design project completed in December 2021, situated in Yi County, Huangshan City, Anhui Province, China, encompassing a total area of 22,528 square meters. This sophisticated service center represents a harmonious blend of traditional Huizhou architecture and contemporary design sensibilities, created to foster a mountain resort lifestyle while contributing to rural revitalization in the post-epidemic era. The design philosophy draws profound inspiration from Huangshan culture and local architectural heritage, incorporating distinctive elements such as Ma Tau walls arranged in layered arrays, which reimagine hui-style aesthetics through a modern lens. The project's spatial organization demonstrates exceptional attention to the relationship between built structures and courtyards, featuring thoughtfully planned circulation paths and flexible modern interventions that enhance architectural depth. Materials including gray granite, floor tiles, texture paint, and ancient wood were carefully selected to maintain authenticity while ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal. The center's design incorporates enclosed courtyards, integrated water features, and meandering corridors that create an organic flow reflecting the traditional Chinese principle of harmony between humans and nature. The sales area is uniquely integrated within a relaxed café and bistro setting, while the surrounding seasonal landscape transforms the village into a living Chinese ink painting, attracting artists, photographers, and tourists. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category stands as a comprehensive system that goes beyond conventional space planning, embodying an innovative operational model that demonstrates excellence in cultural preservation, functional design, and contemporary interpretation of traditional elements.
