Hsu Residence Private Residence

Hsu Residence Private Residence

Hsu Residence Private Residence is an award-winning residential interior design project located in Taoyuan, Taiwan, exemplifying a harmonious blend of contemporary aesthetics and functional living spaces within a 220-square-meter apartment. The design, completed in December 2017, showcases a sophisticated interplay of materials, featuring simple grey stone surfaces complemented by a light stone ceiling that establishes a cohesive atmospheric foundation throughout the space. The interior architecture is distinguished by its thoughtful integration of wooden textures applied across walls, cabinets, and furniture pieces, which introduces both volumetric interest and warmth to the environment. A notable aspect of this residential design is its well-conceived open-plan layout, seamlessly connecting the kitchen, dining area, and living room to create an expansive, light-filled living space. The design philosophy emphasizes material authenticity and textural richness, particularly evident in the entrance area where the natural characteristics of materials are prominently displayed. The private areas of the residence feature a harmonious combination of wooden walls, custom cabinetry, and light brown tile finishes, creating a tranquil atmosphere enhanced by natural sunlight. This project, which earned an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2018, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning and material selection that promotes a sense of peace and inspiration within an urban context. The design successfully achieves its objective of creating a simple yet distinctive living environment that offers respite from the busy city life, while maintaining a sophisticated aesthetic appeal through its careful attention to material combinations and spatial flow.
