Housing From Ground To Sky The Residential Complex

Housing from Ground to Sky The residential complex is an innovative architectural project that reimagines the traditional concept of vertical residential development through a thoughtful integration of historical Islamic architectural elements and modern sustainable design principles. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning architectural concept, designed by Rasool Akhondzadeh, Ghasemi and Yoosefi, presents a revolutionary approach to addressing urban housing challenges by creating a symbolic connection between earth and sky. The design draws inspiration from traditional Islamic architecture, particularly incorporating the dome and muqarnas (vaulted arches) elements, where the dome represents the sky and the cubic space beneath symbolizes the earth. Unlike conventional skyscrapers that simply reach upward, this complex employs a stepped tissue design that penetrates into the ground, utilizing geothermal properties to reduce thermal exchange with the external environment. The project's distinctive features include dynamic facades with specialized balconies, integration of traditional spatial elements such as light, water, and vegetation, and the use of local materials like thatch and brick. The complex demonstrates exceptional attention to environmental considerations, social interaction patterns, and cultural sensitivity, while addressing common high-rise building concerns such as urban skyline disruption, environmental impact, and privacy issues. The design's adaptable nature allows for expansion and reproduction in various dimensions, making it a versatile solution for modern urban development challenges while maintaining strong connections to architectural heritage.
