House IM Box Shaped Flexible Residence Single House

House IM box shaped flexible residence Single house is an innovative architectural project that exemplifies contemporary residential design through its adaptable spatial configuration and thoughtful structural elements. This 4-meter-high cubic structure, measuring 10 by 10 meters, represents a sophisticated approach to flexible living spaces while incorporating gallery functionality. The residence, constructed using conventional wooden techniques, rests upon a distinctive flat, stage-like foundation that rises 50 centimeters above ground level with a one-meter perimeter overhang. The building's structural integrity is maintained through its outer walls and strategically placed courtyard columns, enabling remarkable interior adaptability. The design features continuous high windows circumnavigating the structure, creating a seamless connection with the natural environment, while the exterior showcases a distinctive mottled finish in a cloud motif. The interior space, spanning approximately 100 square meters, is ingeniously divided by 1.9-meter-high blindfold walls and custom-designed furniture, maintaining a flowing, open-plan atmosphere while providing subtle spatial demarcation. Notable design elements include bespoke furniture, specialized stainless steel lighting fixtures, and large wooden openings facing the courtyard. The project, completed in 2012 in Takasaki city, Japan, demonstrates exceptional versatility in its ability to transform according to evolving lifestyle needs, whether serving as a gallery space, individual rooms, or a family-oriented environment. This architectural achievement was recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to residential design and spatial flexibility.
