HONGMEI 21 Residential, Architecture, Ransformation
HONGMEI 21 Residential, Architecture, Ransformation is a significant architectural renovation project that exemplifies sustainable urban development and minimalist design principles in contemporary residential architecture. This transformative project, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, encompasses a comprehensive renovation of a 20-year-old residence spanning 560 square meters, inhabited by three generations. The project's distinctive approach maintains the original building's structural integrity while introducing modern architectural elements through innovative spatial reorganization and structural reinforcement. The design philosophy centers on maximizing natural light and creating seamless indoor-outdoor transitions through the strategic implementation of floor-to-ceiling frameless glass doors and expanded window openings. Notable architectural interventions include the flattening of sloping roofs, introduction of expanded balconies, and the integration of concealed functional elements such as window frames, lighting fixtures, and utility systems. The project demonstrates exceptional technical prowess in its structural modifications, including the removal of three beams and addition of ten vertical supports, alongside the parallel displacement of the building framework by 1.5 meters to optimize the living space. The interior design embraces minimalist principles while incorporating sophisticated elements such as precisely arranged Jasso-white marble patterns with stringent 0.5mm tolerance requirements. The renovation successfully addresses multiple challenges including structural reinforcement, elevator integration, and spatial optimization, while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic that bridges traditional architectural elements with contemporary design sensibilities.
