Home Scenery Residential Interior Design

Home Scenery Residential Interior Design

Home Scenery Residential Interior Design is an innovative residential interior design project that masterfully transforms an 88-square-meter urban apartment into a theatrical living space, drawing inspiration from the owner's background in the film industry. This sophisticated design solution, created by Chong Ping Chiu, seamlessly integrates Japanese and industrial design elements while addressing the challenges of compact city living. The design's centerpiece features a distinctive stage-like living area, characterized by light color schemes and soft timber finishes that create a striking contrast against the monotone backdrop of the dining and working spaces. This thoughtful contradistinction not only serves an aesthetic purpose but also creates an optical illusion that visually enlarges the space. The interior architecture incorporates an ingenious storage system, including hidden cabinet units beneath the tatami flooring and behind the custom-built sofa, demonstrating exceptional space optimization. The project, which won a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases innovative material selections including wood veneer, dark mirror, plywood, and steel frame, with an emphasis on low-formaldehyde and non-toxic materials to ensure a healthier living environment. The layout encompasses a living area, dining space, kitchen, two toilets, a main bedroom, and a specially designed pink bedroom for the teenager, all thoughtfully arranged to maximize functionality while maintaining aesthetic harmony. The design's versatility is evident in its flexible spaces, such as the tatami flooring area that serves multiple purposes from meditation to social gatherings, and the multifunctional dining area that seamlessly transitions between dining, working, and meeting spaces.
