HMV Cigar And Wine Bar Restaurant
HMV Cigar and Wine Bar Restaurant is an exemplary split-level entertainment venue located on the top floor of a glass-clad skyscraper in Shanghai's cosmopolitan district, distinguished by its innovative spatial design and sophisticated ambiance. This Silver A' Design Award-winning establishment, designed by Tenniel Tsang, masterfully capitalizes on its soaring 6-meter ceilings and wraparound views of the urban landscape, featuring a formal restaurant on the lower level and an intimate speakeasy-style cigar lounge in the loft space. The architectural design demonstrates exceptional space optimization through its thoughtful division of dining areas, incorporating a signature bow-shaped communal table, strategically placed coffee corners by picture windows, and elevated seating along a sophisticated cocktail station. The interior aesthetic is characterized by a refined neutral color palette punctuated by luxurious cobalt blue velvet furnishings and burnt yellow accents that maintain visual continuity throughout the space. The venue's sophisticated material selection includes dark slate and polished stone surfaces, complemented by sultry lighting schemes and textured elements that enhance the luxurious atmosphere. The design successfully addresses the challenge of creating a versatile environment suitable for both high-profile business entertainment and social gatherings, with careful attention paid to acoustics and evening illumination. The loft area, accessed via a geometrically-shelved staircase with integrated lighting, offers an exclusive cigar room furnished with plush sofas and retro-inspired elements, while private terraces provide panoramic views of Shanghai's skyline, making this establishment a premier destination for sophisticated dining and entertainment.
