Hinomori Resident Villa

Hinomori Resident Villa

Hinomori Resident Villa is an exemplary residential interior design project completed in 2018 in northern Taiwan, showcasing a harmonious blend of Japanese aesthetic principles with modern architectural elements. The design, created by Wei-Hao Lin, demonstrates exceptional spatial innovation through its open-plan layout, where traditional compartments are replaced with subtle ceiling lines that delineate different functional areas while maintaining visual continuity. The villa's design philosophy centers on creating a bright, comfortable atmosphere through the strategic use of natural light, achieved through large windows in the living room and study areas. The interior features a sophisticated material palette combining pure white surfaces with warm wood elements and gray cement textures, creating a serene yet dynamic living environment. Notable architectural features include an innovative ceiling-mounted projector system, custom-built bookshelves utilizing 4cm thick wood cortex laminate boards, and a uniquely integrated fish tank that serves as a focal point at the entrance foyer. The design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2019, acknowledging its excellence in spatial planning and innovative approach to residential design. The villa's sophisticated environmental controls include carefully considered moisture management systems, particularly in the custom fish tank installation, while the overall design emphasizes the seamless integration of technology and natural elements, creating a space that balances functionality with aesthetic refinement.
