Hill House Private Residence

Hill House Private Residence

Hill House Private Residence is an innovative architectural masterpiece and Silver A' Design Award-winning residential project that exemplifies harmonious integration with its natural surroundings while maintaining high ecological standards. Located in Ponteranica, Bergamo, this sophisticated development comprises two distinct housing units that share common service areas on the ground floor while offering unique living experiences through their differentiated designs. The project, completed in 2018, demonstrates exceptional architectural ingenuity through its careful consideration of site topography and morphology. The structure employs a sophisticated dry-type construction methodology, utilizing natural and recyclable materials including exposed colored concrete, naturally oxidized larch wood, and matt pre-oxidized zinc-titanium sheeting. The residential units, characterized by their modularity and low-energy consumption, feature cantilevered structures supported by slender metal pilotis, allowing them to rest at varying heights while preserving the natural landscape. The total intervention volume of 1205.55 cubic meters is thoughtfully distributed, with building heights not exceeding 8.50 meters above ground. The interior spaces are intelligently designed, with open-plan living areas on the ground floor and more traditional sleeping quarters on the first floor. The project's environmental consciousness is evident in its structural choices and material selection, while its architectural composition maintains a delicate balance between functionality and aesthetic appeal. The elevations are diversified through material composition and structural choices, featuring carefully positioned openings that establish intimate connections with the landscape while considering solar orientation. The design earned recognition through the Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, acknowledging its exceptional contribution to sustainable residential architecture.
