Hich Cafe Coffee Shop is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies contemporary architectural philosophy through its thoughtful integration of natural and industrial elements. Located in Iran and completed in 2018, this 500-square-meter space represents a sophisticated approach to modern cafe design, where the Persian word Hich (meaning none) symbolizes an environment devoid of unwanted elements. The design, conceived by Navid Moshir Arash Seifan in collaboration with Arash Seifan and Milad Semyari Roudbari, masterfully combines raw materials such as concrete, reclaimed timber, bamboo steel bars, and brick to create a harmonious atmosphere that balances aesthetic appeal with functional practicality. The space is distinguished by its carefully considered lighting design, featuring symbolic ceiling-mounted bulbs that represent future possibilities and aspirations. The interior architecture maintains the original structural elements to minimize construction costs while incorporating large windows that optimize natural light infiltration while screening discordant external views. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category demonstrates exceptional achievement in creating a multifunctional environment that serves as both a social gathering space and a contemplative retreat. The design philosophy emphasizes the creation of distinct zones for various activities, from intimate conversations to focused study, all while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic that promotes relaxation and positive social interactions.
