Hi Q Brown Algae Life Square Exhibition Center

Hi Q Brown Algae Life Square Exhibition Center

Hi Q Brown Algae Life Square Exhibition Center is an innovative architectural and interior design project that seamlessly integrates exhibition spaces, dining facilities, educational areas, and research offices within a two-story venue. Located in the Songshan District of Taipei City, Taiwan, this multifunctional space was completed in May 2019 and represents a groundbreaking approach to experiential design centered around brown algae and social services. The design, conceived by Chun-Ying Lai, employs sophisticated aesthetic elements that draw inspiration from oceanic themes, incorporating diatomite imitation coating for textural wall surfaces and organic curved lines that abstractly represent flowing seawater. The exhibition center features a thoughtfully curated environment where natural light interacts with carefully selected materials, including special gold glaze glass for the restaurant's reception counter and imported wallpaper that mimics layered rocks. The space's molecular-inspired design elements, created through woodworks and latches suspended by steel bars, pay homage to the scientific research conducted within the facility. The interior demonstrates exceptional spatial planning, with the first floor serving as an experience area for various products, while maintaining a cohesive visual narrative throughout the building. The design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial design and material selection. The project successfully balances aesthetic appeal with functional requirements, incorporating sustainable design practices and cultural relevance while creating an immersive environment that enhances visitor experience and brand communication.
