Helios Airport Brewery Amusement Pub is an innovative hospitality design project that revolutionizes the concept of airport dining and entertainment, distinguished by its unique position as the world's first airport-based brewery pub where visitors can enjoy freshly brewed beer. Designed by Japanese designer Shinjiro Heshiki and completed in December 2022, this experimental factory-laboratory concept masterfully combines modern industrial aesthetics with warm, natural elements. The design's signature feature is its striking blue facade, achieved through an innovative application of titanium quenching style art paint on steel plates, creating a distinctive metallic luster that draws visitors' attention from lower floors while adhering to strict airport regulations. The interior space showcases a sophisticated balance between contemporary brewing technology and traditional craftsmanship, featuring a central barrel sculpture crafted from authentic brewery barrels, measuring 930mm in width and 1300mm in height, surrounded by a showcase of hop artifacts and decorated with artistic stained glass elements. The facility's layout was meticulously planned to allow visitors to observe the brewing process while enjoying their beverages, incorporating a continuous distiller system with moromi and rectifying towers. The design successfully overcame numerous technical challenges related to airport regulations, including weight restrictions and disaster prevention requirements, while maintaining its aesthetic integrity. The project's innovative approach to materials, space utilization, and customer experience earned it the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its contribution to advancing airport hospitality design. The establishment's modern laboratory atmosphere is skillfully softened by the strategic use of wood-grain materials, creating a harmonious environment that reflects both technological advancement and natural comfort.
