Heaven Within Reach Residence

Heaven Within Reach Residence

Heaven Within Reach Residence is an award-winning residential interior design project located in New Taipei City, Taiwan, that masterfully transforms a challenging architectural space into a harmonious living environment. The project, completed in September 2021 under the direction of Kenneth Lee, overcomes significant structural constraints, including numerous large beams and columns that initially limited the ceiling height to 215 centimeters. The 1,423.4-square-foot space demonstrates innovative spatial organization, dividing the interior into public and private domains through strategic use of cross beams. The design philosophy integrates Christian symbolism through four ingeniously concealed crosses throughout the residence, adding spiritual significance to everyday living spaces. The interior aesthetic achieves visual lightness through paper-like layers, shadow play, and an irregular arch ceiling that creates sky-like effects. The color palette combines white and dusty gray with deep walnut accents and subtle black elements, establishing a sophisticated balance between lightness and gravitas. A distinctive feature of the design is its thoughtful incorporation of the surrounding landscape, with carefully framed views of mountains and rivers that create ever-changing natural artwork throughout the day and seasons. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies excellence in residential interior design through its innovative space utilization, spiritual integration, and harmonious connection with nature.
