Hat Lamp

Hat Lamp

Hat Lamp is an innovative lighting fixture that harmoniously blends functional illumination with cultural symbolism and emotional resonance. Designed by Yi Zhang and Zhen Wang, this sculptural lighting solution stands at 1500mm in height with a 250mm width and depth, featuring a distinctive composition of a square base and circular top element that embodies the Chinese philosophical concept of the sky is round and the earth is square. The lamp's sophisticated optical system creates an immersive experience by simulating natural sunlight filtering through invisible blinds, producing subtle shadow patterns that evoke the warmth and tranquility of sunlit spaces. Through meticulous engineering and material selection incorporating wood, metal, optical materials, and acrylic, the design achieves three distinct lighting modes representing different times of day: noon (white sunlight), sunset (yellow sunlight), and dusk (orange sunlight). The interchangeable top disc allows users to customize their lighting experience, while the carefully calculated angles and distances between optical materials and light sources ensure optimal light distribution without harsh glare. This Silver A' Design Award-winning creation in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category represents a significant innovation in emotional lighting design, offering users a therapeutic connection to natural light patterns even in windowless spaces, while its clean, minimalist form emphasizes the interplay of light and shadow.
