Happyland Kid's Club Xiamen China Happyland
Happyland Kid's Club Xiamen China Happyland is an innovative children's recreational facility that exemplifies the fusion of cultural heritage and futuristic design, situated in a prominent location in Xiamen, China. This Iron A' Design Award-winning interior space project, conceived and executed by architect Alec Wong and team, draws inspiration from the nearby UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site of Gulangyu Island, transforming it into a forward-looking narrative set in the year 2518. The facility spans approximately 1000 square meters with an impressive 8-meter ceiling height, featuring a distinctive whale-themed design that incorporates advanced technological elements such as a 5-meter by 3-meter LED screen fashioned as a whale's tail. The space ingeniously combines educational and entertainment elements through various interactive zones including a pirate ship cosplay area, ball pool with shooting games, multiple slides, and jumping areas, all integrated within the overarching narrative of a future where humans and marine life coexist harmoniously. The design successfully addresses complex technical and regulatory challenges, particularly in terms of fire safety compliance and mall developer guidelines, while maintaining its artistic integrity. The interior space utilizes state-of-the-art projection technology and LED lighting systems to create an immersive environment that reflects both the maritime heritage of Xiamen and a sustainable vision of the future, earning recognition in the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award category for its innovative approach to children's recreational space design.
