Happiness Residence

Happiness Residence

Happiness Residence is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies minimalist aesthetics and sophisticated spatial planning within a 138.8-square-meter apartment in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space Design category, showcases an innovative approach to modern living spaces through its thoughtful integration of curves, minimalistic lines, and diverse material compositions. The residence, designed for a doctor-nurse couple, demonstrates exceptional spatial optimization through its transformation into a three-bedroom layout that prioritizes both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The design philosophy centers on creating a serene and comfortable atmosphere through the strategic use of white and gray color palettes, complemented by beige special coating in public areas. Notable architectural solutions include the treatment of structural challenges, where curved surfaces and intelligent lighting design mitigate the visual impact of low beams. The public spaces feature an open-plan concept, seamlessly connecting the foyer, living room, and dining areas while incorporating sophisticated storage solutions. The interior's distinctive elements include a double-sided cabinet that ingeniously combines the television wall with children's room storage, curved corridor corners that create a ceremonial entrance experience, and an L-shaped dressing room design that transforms into walls when closed. The kitchen space employs sliding glass doors to maximize natural light penetration, creating a bright, box-like effect that enhances the overall spatial experience. This residential project stands out for its successful balance of minimalist design principles with practical living requirements, earning recognition in the A' Design Award competition for its innovative approach to contemporary residential interior design.
