Hankook Coffee Poster and Postcard is an innovative visual communication design project that exemplifies excellence in information design and brand storytelling through its sophisticated representation of coffee production and distribution processes. This meticulously crafted design work, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, employs a distinctive approach to visualizing coffee through diagram-style illustrations using coffee drop forms. The project consists of carefully dimensioned pieces - a poster measuring 420mm x 594mm and accompanying postcards sized at 90mm x 130mm - that effectively communicate complex information about premium coffee bean selection, importation, and processing methods. The design's primary objective was to bridge the knowledge gap between coffee producers and consumers by creating an accessible visual narrative of the coffee journey, from plantation to cup. Through the strategic use of Adobe Illustrator CS6 and Photoshop CS6, the designers created a harmonious blend of illustrated and photographic elements, paying particular attention to color accuracy in the printing process. The project demonstrates exceptional merit in its ability to convey detailed information about specialty coffee, particularly focusing on the top seven percent of A-grade coffee beans, through an engaging visual language that resonates with both coffee enthusiasts and general consumers. Initially showcased at the Coffee Show 2015 in Korea, this design work has evolved into an enduring promotional tool that continues to effectively communicate the intricacies of premium coffee production and distribution, while maintaining its relevance and impact in the competitive specialty coffee market.
