Handmade Warmth Brochure is an innovative graphic design project that exemplifies the fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary communication design, created by designers Alexander Kirzhbaum and Tatyana Farba. This distinctive publication, measuring 210mm x 210mm x 6mm, features meticulously crafted thread illustrations combined with children's poetry to communicate social support programs in an emotionally resonant manner. The design employs a unique production technique utilizing foam board, precision PRYM pins, and MOULINE threads divided into thirds, creating tactile illustrations against high-contrast backgrounds for optimal visual impact. The brochure's conceptual foundation draws inspiration from the metaphor of untangling threads, symbolizing the resolution of complex life situations, while incorporating familiar characters from twentieth-century Russian children's literature to establish cultural resonance. This innovative approach transforms potentially challenging subject matter into an accessible and warm narrative experience, evoking nostalgic memories of childhood storytelling. The project, completed between March and May 2016, represents a significant achievement in visual communication design, earning recognition with a Gold A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category.
