Hand-operated Dibbers
Hand-operated dibbers are small gardening tools used to create holes in soil for planting seeds or small plants. They consist of a handle and a pointed end that is used to make holes in the soil. The pointed end can be made of metal, plastic, or wood, and the handle can be made of the same materials or a combination of them. Hand-operated dibbers are commonly used by gardeners who prefer to plant seeds or small plants individually, rather than using a seed drill or other planting tools. The use of hand-operated dibbers dates back to ancient times, when they were used by farmers to plant crops. Over time, the design of the dibber has evolved to make it more efficient and easier to use. Today, hand-operated dibbers are widely used by home gardeners and small-scale farmers, as they are affordable, easy to use, and require little maintenance. To use a hand-operated dibber, the gardener simply presses the pointed end into the soil to create a hole. The depth of the hole can be adjusted by the gardener, depending on the size of the seed or plant being planted. Once the hole is created, the gardener can drop a seed or small plant into it and cover it with soil. Hand-operated dibbers are particularly useful for planting in small spaces, such as raised garden beds or containers. They are also useful for planting in areas with hard or compacted soil, as they can easily penetrate the soil without disturbing it too much.
