Halo Lamp is an innovative lighting fixture designed by Matthew McCormick that exemplifies the intersection of artistic expression and functional illumination. Originally conceived as a graphical interpretation of effervescence, this sophisticated lighting system emerged from a custom commission for an Italian Prosecco brand, drawing inspiration from the ethereal quality of floating bubbles. The design features a modular system of circular fluorescent tubes available in varying diameters of 8, 12, and 16 inches, housed within precisely machined and hand-finished metallic frames. Distinguished by its versatile mounting capabilities, the Halo Lamp can be arranged in numerous compositional configurations, effectively transforming each installation into a unique piece of suspended illuminated art. The fixture's material palette includes premium finishes such as brass, copper, nickel, and 24-karat gold, lending an air of luxury and sophistication to its minimalist form. The design's technical excellence and aesthetic innovation were recognized with a Golden A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category in 2017, acknowledging its contribution to contemporary lighting design. The lamp's defining characteristic lies in its ability to create a soft, warm ambient glow while maintaining a bold architectural presence, making it particularly suitable for both residential and commercial applications where sophisticated atmospheric lighting is desired.
