Hair Stop Floor Drain

Hair Stop Floor Drain

Hair Stop Floor Drain is an innovative sanitary ware solution designed to address the persistent challenge of hair accumulation in bathroom drains, featuring a distinctive octopus-inspired form that revolutionizes traditional drain design. This groundbreaking bathroom fixture, developed by designers Ding Jian, Cao Weizhi, and Li Changhan, integrates sophisticated engineering with user-centric functionality through its unique central CORCS component and nickel-plated copper exterior construction, spanning a compact 3-inch diameter. The design's primary innovation lies in its intuitive press-to-clean mechanism, which efficiently collects and organizes hair debris during shower use, eliminating the need for manual cleaning and reducing maintenance requirements. Distinguished by its departure from conventional drain aesthetics, this sanitary fixture employs biomimetic design principles, translating the natural gathering capability of octopus tentacles into a practical cleaning solution. The product, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Bathroom Furniture and Sanitary Ware Design category, represents a significant advancement in bathroom fixture design, combining aesthetic appeal with practical functionality. Its development, completed at LuXun Academy of Fine Arts between January 2016 and February 2017, emerged from extensive research into residential hygiene practices and user behavior patterns, ultimately delivering a solution that enhances daily bathroom maintenance while prioritizing user convenience and sanitary conditions.
