Hainan Cancer Hospital Cancer Hospital

Hainan Cancer Hospital Cancer Hospital

Hainan Cancer Hospital Cancer Hospital is a groundbreaking healthcare facility located in China's tropical Hainan province, representing a significant advancement in cancer treatment facility design and patient care environments. This innovative medical institution, completed in 2015, encompasses 23,000 square meters of thoughtfully designed space that challenges traditional hospital aesthetics through the implementation of organic forms and irregular lines. The facility's design philosophy centers on creating a soothing, healing environment that transcends conventional hospital architecture, incorporating evidence-based design principles to support patient recovery and well-being. The interior spaces feature a harmonious blend of materials including marble, synthetic stone, wood veneer, and Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum (GRG), carefully selected to create a warm, neutral atmosphere that promotes healing. The design team employed a comprehensive Ten P's Questions evaluation technique throughout the development process, addressing crucial aspects such as Perception, People, Place, Process, Procedure, Path, Performance, Pleasure, Placement, and Professional considerations. This methodical approach, combined with extensive user group interviews and evidence-based design research, resulted in a sophisticated healing environment that balances strict medical requirements with innovative spatial solutions. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, demonstrates exceptional achievement in creating a medical facility that serves both as a state-of-the-art cancer treatment center and a recuperative haven, taking advantage of Hainan's natural tropical setting to enhance the healing experience.
