Guyuelongshan Chinese Rice Wine Packaging

Guyuelongshan Chinese Rice Wine Packaging

Guyuelongshan Chinese Rice Wine Packaging is an innovative packaging design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese cultural elements with contemporary design aesthetics, created by designer Yuejun Chen. This sophisticated packaging solution, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, draws profound inspiration from classical Chinese landscape painting, particularly the renowned A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains. The design's distinctive approach manifests through its dimensional specifications of 340mm width, 130mm depth, and 150mm height, incorporating artistic interpretations of landscapes and sunset motifs to create an immersive visual experience. The packaging design addresses the challenge of modernizing traditional Chinese rice wine presentation while maintaining authentic cultural elements, particularly significant as it houses one of China's most historic wine varieties from the Zhejiang region. The design's conceptual framework deliberately breaks away from conventional rice wine packaging paradigms, introducing a fresh aesthetic that appeals to contemporary consumers while preserving the product's cultural heritage. Through meticulous attention to detail and innovative production techniques, the design successfully translates the ethereal quality of Chinese landscape paintings into a tangible product form, demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship in its execution. The project, completed in Shenzhen during July-August 2023, represents a significant advancement in packaging design, particularly in its ability to bridge traditional cultural elements with modern consumer expectations, while maintaining the practical requirements of protecting and presenting the low-alcohol content rice wine product.
