Guilin Exhibition Center
Guilin Exhibition Center is an innovative architectural masterpiece located in China that exemplifies the harmonious integration of modern design with natural landscape aesthetics. Completed in September 2018, this 4,021-square-meter cultural facility stands as a testament to contemporary architectural innovation through its unique interpretation of Guilin's renowned landscape. The structure's most distinctive feature is its sophisticated glass curtain wall system, which employs an innovative double-sided printing technique on glass ribs to create a three-dimensional representation of Guilin's iconic mountain scenery. The building's exterior facade achieves a clean, seamless appearance through its semi-exposed framing glass curtain wall, deliberately avoiding traditional structural adhesive lines or metal snap caps. The design incorporates three distinct levels of hill shades on the building elevation - close, medium, and distant views - created through two sets of glass ribs varying in density and vertical height. The center's artistic merit is further enhanced by its reflective qualities, particularly evident in the front plaza's water feature, which creates dynamic visual effects through the interplay of light and reflection. The interior design pays homage to Chinese cultural heritage through a thoughtfully designed bamboo gallery along the main sightseeing route, celebrating both the region's natural bamboo resources and China's rich bamboo culture. This exceptional architectural achievement was recognized with a Golden A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category in 2020, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial design and cultural representation. The project stands as a remarkable example of how modern architectural techniques can be employed to create a meaningful dialogue between built environment and natural landscape, while serving its primary function as a cultural and tourism exhibition center.
