Growing Sports Park Sports Park is an innovative architectural project that exemplifies the integration of sports facilities with urban green spaces, designed by Lai Jun, Gong Xin, and Zhang Xuan. This sophisticated development, recognized with a Gold A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, represents a pioneering approach to maximizing land utilization through its distinctive folded land design concept. The park encompasses a total area of 35,893.34 square meters, featuring a construction area of 23,727.85 square meters and a building area of 7,257.78 square meters. The design seamlessly integrates architecture, landscape, and interior elements through parametric design methodologies and Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. The facility incorporates advanced sustainable features including ground source heat pumps, solar water heating systems, and comprehensive rainwater recycling infrastructure. The structure employs a hybrid construction approach, utilizing concrete frames and shear walls for underground components while implementing steel frames with grid-structure roofs for above-ground elements. A defining feature is its multi-level central courtyard and social spaces, connected by a landscape corridor running east to west, incorporating a sunken plaza with a semi-underground swimming pool. The project, completed in 2016 after six years of development, achieved a three-star green building rating in China, demonstrating exceptional environmental consciousness. Its innovative design addresses the sociological challenge of encouraging outdoor activity in urban environments, creating meaningful spaces for community engagement and physical activity while maintaining harmony with the surrounding urban context.
